With solemn reverence, we commemorate Linda Burgett of Newton, Iowa, whose life came to an end on December 9, 2025 at the age of 78, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Whigham and Bessie Whigham (Little); her daughter Christine Anne Burgett; her sons-in-law, Kurtis Sandrock and Tom Herring; and her siblings, Dean Whigham, Jean Clark, Dolores Shull, Martha Franzen, Howard Whigham, Judi Schreiner and David Whigham.
She is survived by: her husband Larry Burgett of Newton; her children, Michelle Herring (Bob Wisch) of Joliet, Nicolle Hornberg (Shawn) of Boone and Bradley Burgett of Newton; her grandchildren, Alexandria Draper (Nathan), Tanner Sandrock, Kurtlyn Sandrock, Seth Hornberg, Zoe Burgett and Rowen Burgett; her great grandchildren, Kaydn, Karynn, Kael and Dailee; and her sisters, Phyllis Van Fosson (Garth) and Carolyn Carpenter. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 20th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory (1115 E 19th St N, Newton, IA 50208-2539). Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 20th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Iowa River Hospice House in Marshalltown may be left at the funeral home.
