She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilbert Ingalls and Helen Ingalls (Rail); her husband Fred Eugene Smothers; her siblings, Janet Ferch and Wesley Ingalls; and her brothers-in-law, Jim, Raymond, Jack, Bud, Tom and Dale.
She is survived by: her daughters, Holly Eilander of Newton, Shannon Pfeiff of Middletown, Charity Brunsmann (Marty) of Newton and Debra Smothers of Newton; her grandchildren, Katie Barth (Myles), Garrett Eilander (Paige), Tucker Brunsmann, Britton Wilson (Dana), Teddie Meester (Tjaden), Tess Bestell (Anthony), Luxie Brunsmann, Spencer Pfeiff, Parker Pfeiff and River Pfeiff; her great grandchildren, Ramsey, Ryder Kolpin, Zella, Zyles Barth, Elannah, Lena Eilander, Donavan, Josephine Pfeiff, Landon, Logan Wilson and Hattie B. Meester; and her sisters, Kim Reese (Dave), Billie Deck (Gene) and Ruby Fasbinder. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 16th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory (1115 E 19th St N, Newton, IA 50208-2539). A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 17th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
