He was predeceased by: his parents, Adelbert Sears and Ann Sears (Paul); his wife Margie Sears; his daughter Sandra Ellen Hennesay; his siblings, Clarence Sears (Judy) and Jane Allnutt; his niece Kathy Hopkins; and his nephew Rick Allnutt.
He is survived by: his son Jeffrey Hennesay of Texas; his granddaughters, Brandi Hennesay and Susan Ryberg (Mike); his great grandchild Lisbeth Rah Burden Hennesay; his grandchildren, Eric Johnson and Chelsea Andreatta; his niece Lisa Sears; and his nephews, Gary Sears and Steven Allnutt.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Smith Funeral Home (1103 Broad St, Grinnell, IA 50112). The military honors will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
