He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Sickle and Stella Van Sickle (Davis); his wife Judy Dow; and his children, Robert and Tracy.
He is survived by: his children, Tim Van Sickle (Joni) of Newton, Chris Van Sickle (Debbie) of Newton and Lori Schutte (Jim) of Newton; and his siblings, Marvin Van Sickle (Sharon) of Newton, Gary Van Sickle of Des Moines and Carol Wall (Rodger) of Newton. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
Memorials to Iowa River Hospice or Newton Village may be left at the funeral home.
