He was predeceased by: his father Theophil Van Lent (Ted); his sister Dina Schuckman; and his nephew Barak Fingalsen. He is survived by: his mother Rozena Van Lent (Theis); his parent-in-law Rochester; his wife Annette; his children, Josh (Lexie) and Anna (Tavin Despenas); his granddaughter Violet Van Lent; his parents-in-law, Harold and Sandy Pippert; his siblings, Lisa Ebel (Dave), Julie Caspers (Don), Vicki Schluter (Myron) and Rich Schuckman; his siblings-in-law, Heather Mathre (Mark), Jason Pippert (Angie) and Jennifer Stiles (Thad); and his brothers, Jim Udelhofen, Joe DeRock, Mike Smith, Steve Stokesbary, Eric Losen and John Heyer. He is also survived by 5 great nieces, 2 great nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Major Erickson Funeral Home (111 N Pennsylvania Ave, Mason City, IA 50401). A funeral service was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Faith Baptist Church (1807 Kentucky Ave, Mason City, IA 50401). A burial was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 at the Park Cemetery N Wyatt.
