He was predeceased by : his parents, Stanley Johnson and Mildred Johnson (Lucke); his stepfather Hale Conlee; and his siblings, Jan Norris, Stanley Johnson and William Johnson.

He is survived by : his children, Emy (Blake Williams) and Erik (Angie Johnson); and his grandchildren, Ashlyn Williams, Teague Williams, Seth Johnson and Cooper Johnson.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in his memory to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Maple Grove Cemetery in Cantril, Iowa or The Solon American Legion.
