He was predeceased by: his parents, Gene Gerard and Betty Gerard (Phelps); his wife Arlene Kahler; his daughter Amy Buzalsky; his siblings, Tiny Kinzenbaw and Ronnie Gerard; and his brother-in-law Michael Parker.

He is survived by: his son Matt (Heather); his grandchildren, Matthew, Jacob (Bailey), Ben and Rachael; his great grandchild Tucker; and his siblings, Kay Tupper (Don), Linda Parker, Terri Beranek (Ed) and Bob Gerard.
