With sadness, we share the passing of Barbara Block of Ocheyedan, Iowa. Barbara, born on May 30, 1931, passed away on July 21, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred and Hilda (Ostermann); her husband Dale Block; her parents-in-law, Leland and Emma Block; and her sisters, Bonnie (Roger Wilson) and Kathy (Doug Kuhn).
She is survived by: her children, Connie Schuster (Jerry), Linda Tangeman, Susan Dirks (Lane), Pam Jacobsma (Curt) and Doug Block (Danette); her grandchildren, Jenny Cross (Scott) of West Des, Jason Schuster (Jennifer) of Nolensville, TN, Karie Terhark (Craig) of Britt, IA, Nick Tangeman (Laura) of Las Vegas, NV, Tracy Dirks of Dallas, TX, Sharon Dutcher (Matt) of Lorten, VA, Brad Dirks (Laura) of Tea, SD, Jamie Jacobsma (Kristi) of Brookings, SD, Mike Jacobsma (Bara) of Erie, CO, Brian Jacobsma (Jena) of Tea, SD, Tina Vande Hoef (Brett) of Spirit Lake, IA, Craig Jacobsma (Grace) of Milford, IA, Kimmi Graham (Chris) of Estherville, IA, Troy Block (Meggan) of Ocheyedan, Kyle Block (Ashley) of Hartley, IA and Kayla Kruger (Kyle) of Sibley, IA; her sister Mary Ellen (Ed Smidt); her siblings-in-law, Bonnie Belken of Milford, IA, Alice Jean Bergman of Ogden, UT., Robert, Ardelle Block, Doris, Jon Mitts, Orville Belken, Dan Bergman and Dennis Block; and her grandchildren, Robyn Schuster and Leah Jacobsma. She is also survived by her grandkids and great grandkids.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Ocheyedan Senior Activity Center or Tracy House Museum.
