We are sad to announce that on April 11, 2024, at the age of 77, Robert Ray Hoekstra of Ocheyedan, Iowa, born in Sioux City, Iowa passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Robert Ray Hoekstra to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Harry Hoekstra and Sadie Hoekstra (Bosma); his birth mother Orvillene Berg; and his sisters, Beth Pranger and Sharon Mousel.

He is survived by : his wife Ruth Memmelaar; his sons, Joel Andrew of Omaha, NE and Justin Rene' of Minneapolis, MN; his siblings, Larry Hoekstra (Samantha) of Ocheyedan, IA and Gretta Nomansen (Duane) of Canistota, SD; his sisters-in-law, Betty Whitson of Ottumwa, IA and Linda Vos (Keith) of Boerne, TX; his grandchildren, Natalie, Caleb, Adrianna and Ethan Carlson of Batesburg, SC; and his sisters, Marilyn Lauer (Dick) of St. Paul, MN and Pearlene Martenson of Bellevue, NE. He is also survived by many extended family and friends.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Jurrens Funeral Home (855 Main St, Ocheyedan, IA 51354). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the CrossWinds Church (2805 Erie Ave, Spirit Lake, IA 51360).

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be directed to the Jesus Film or Samaritan's Purse in memory of Robert Hoekstra.
