She was predeceased by : her parents, Emil Bratten and Lizetta Bratten (Thomas); her husband Wallace "Wally" Richardson; her grandson Brett Bratten; and her sisters, Freda Childers and Karen Stout.

She is survived by : her children, Shane Bratten of Fort Dodge, Shawn Bratten (Jolene) of Waverly and Danielle Dugan (Jeromy Shaw) of Dallas, Texas; and her siblings, George Bratten of Oelwein, Emil Bratten of Ankeny and Liz Pingree (Joe) of Oelwein. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren.
