Mary (Potratz) Adkins Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mary (Potratz) Adkins of Oelwein, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 6, 2026 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Milton Willard and Evelyn Mae Potratz (Staack); her nephew Alex Potratz; and her cousin Karmin Mullins, RN. She is survived by: her former husbands, Richard Puff and Jay Adkins; her daughter Amy McDonough (Ken) of Oelwein; her grandchildren, Jack (Lily Kallenbach), Mary Catherine (Michael Navarro), Daniel (Maddie Peiffer) and Michael McDonough; and her siblings, Judy Smith (Charles) of Westgate, Mark Potratz (Bonnie) of Nashua and Kevin Potratz of Decorah. She is also survived by loving mom and grandmother—the heart of her family.

A Memorial Fund has been established for the Plentiful Pantry and Wild Thunder Animal Rehabilitation.
