He is survived by : his children, Randy Bartels (Esther) of Oelwein, Robert Bartels of Phoenix, Roger Bartels of Anchorage, Kathy Bartels of Oelwein, Sherrie Kilts (Joel) of Mason City, Lisa Backer of Independence and Rod Bartels (Teresa) of Sioux City; and his sister Dorothy Becker of Sargent Bluff. He is also survived by many grandchildren; step grandchildren; great grandchildren; step-great grandchildren.
