He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas W. Madigan and Marguerite Madigan; his wife Linda Madigan; and his sister Mary Lou Julich. He is survived by: his children, Jen Nicholson (Brian) of Woodbury, Minnesota, Patrick Madigan (Gillian) of Urbandale, Iowa and Nicole Simmons (Ryan) of Clive, Iowa.; and his grandchildren, Drew, Madigan Nicholson, Hallie, Neil, Colin Madigan and Tommy Simmons. He is also survived by relatives and friends.
