He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Thomas and Erma Frances Swailes (Brownell); his son Bruce Swailes; his grandson Brandon Swailes; his great grandchildren, Isaiah Swailes and Ryan Schafer; his brother Robert Arthur Swailes; and his brother-in-law Dave Farley.
He is survived by: his children, Artie Swailes (Cami) of Sioux City and Treasa Swailes of Washington; his daughter-in-law Sherry Swailes of West Chester; his grandchildren, Ryan, Chelsey, Kenny, Alixzandra, Gabrielle and William; his great grandchildren, Kayden, Kellyn, Kemsley, Carver, Trey, Berkley, Imari, Malachi, Sophya, Athena, Paul and Caleb; and his siblings, James Swailes (Madeline) of Mount Pleasant, Janice Murphy (Jack) of Lockridge and Betty Farley of Mount Pleasant.
