Karen E. Barber Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Karen E. Barber of Onawa, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 8, 2025 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Herbert Lothringer and Evelyn Lothringer (Hewitt); her parents-in-law, Glenn and Gladys Barber (Kuhn); her sister Kay; and her siblings-in-law, Elmer Meinke, Jerry and Avis Rasmussen.
She is survived by: her husband Darrel Barber of Onawa, Iowa; her children, Sandy Greenwalt (Jerry) of Dunlap, Janet Jordening (Tom) of Hornick, Iowa and Gary Barber (Gina) of Omaha, Nebraska; and her grandsons, Josh Greenwalt, Matt Greenwalt, Mark Greenwalt, Daniel Jordening, Robert Jordening, Ethan Barber and Eric Barber. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the First Christian Church (722 15th St, Onawa, IA 51040). A prayer will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Riverside Cemetery.
