He was predeceased by : his parents, Ivan Ruttkay and Elsie Ruttkay (Noren); his son James Ruttkay; his grandsons, Joshua Patrick and Devin Graves; and his sister Delores Gorup.

He is survived by : his wife Sally Ruttkay of Onawa, Iowa; his brother Ronald Ruttkay of Downers Grove, Illinois; his children, Bradley Ruttkay (Teri) of Sioux City, Daniel Ruttkay (Paula) of Sioux City, Marla Patrick (Lynn) of Fort Meyers, LeAnn Carter (Michael) of Hinton, Shawna Scofield (Randy) of Sioux City, Elizabeth Graves (Jerry "Dean") of Sioux City, Janene Ruttkay of Sioux City and Dawn Langhoff (Todd) of Mount Pleasant, Texas; and his great grandchild David Angel Lozano. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many other relatives, and friends.
