He was predeceased by: his parents, Koenraad "Rod" Jong and Mayris De Jong (Haverdink); Kent Brink. He is survived by: his wife Kim of Orange City; his children, Kolbie (Tony Vande Brake), Lawton (Heather De Jong) and Morgan (Beau Heithoff); his grandchildren, Madelyn, Elsie, Luke Vande Brake, Case, Bennett, Wyatt De Jong, Hattie Mae and Kit Caroline Heithoff; his brother Kevin (Susan De Jong) of Orange City; Wayne, Crystal Brink of Maurice, Randy Brink of Orange City and Pam (Allen Jeltema) of Orange City. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the First Reformed Church (420 Central Ave NW, Orange City, IA 51041). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials will be given to Crown Pointe Estates and the National Prion Disease Pathology Surveillance Center.
