He was predeceased by: his parents, Waldon Platz and Viola Platz (Shaefer); and his sister-in-law Linda Platz. He is survived by: his wife Linda Platz of Orchard, IA; his daughters, Dawn Evans (Paul) of Forest City, IA and Brenda Platz; and his siblings, Doris Brookins (Art) of Chatfield, Ruth Ernst (Gordon) of Villages, Janice Nickelson (Robert) of Rochester, Duane Platz (Donna) of Allentown and Gary Platz of Stewartville, Minnesota.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home (1205 S Main St, Charles City, IA 50616). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
