Betty leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Betty’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Betty will carry forward her memory in their hearts.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Eithel McKnight and John McKnight; her husband Charles Roger Downard; her son Charles Douglas; and her grandson Tyler.
She is survived by: her daughter-in-law Patty Downard; her granddaughter Stephanie Downard (Aaron Clark); her sister-in-law Sally Dykes; and her great grandchildren, Bobby, Tyler Rose and Isabella. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Kale Funeral Home - Osceola (301 S Main St, Osceola, IA 50213). A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at 1:30 PM at the Liberty Cemetery.
