She was predeceased by: her parents, Audry Lorene (McConnell) and Elmer Gilbert; her siblings, Glen Gilbert (Shirley), Connie Clausen (Gail), Gloria McClure (Don) and Kenny Gilbert (Juanita); her husband Larry Defenbaugh; her grandson-in-law Bill Mongar; and her friend Gary Allard.
She is survived by: her children, Linda Hopkins (Mike) of Osceola and Jeff Defenbaugh (Jolee) of New Virginia, Iowa; her grandchildren, Brandy Pearson (Kevin), Angela Hoffman, Josie Halferty (Jeremy), Jake Defenbaugh (Angel), Joshua Defenbaugh (Bethany), Jessica Defenbaugh and Kaden Mumford; her great grandchildren, Ashley Mongar (Randy Watkins), Kaylee Carson (Trenton), Destiny Mongar, Isabella Hoffman (Cole Frees), William Mongar (Anna), Gavin, Liam, Grayson, Lilia Halferty, Kimber and Gentry Defenbaugh; and her great great grandchildren, Maycee, Mylee, Kayne, Jemma Watkins, Tessa, Kenna, Kade Carson, Haizlee, Keegan Wichhart, Dallin Armagost, Acesyn, Averie and Wren Mongar. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Kale Funeral Home - Osceola (301 S Main St, Osceola, IA 50213). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
