It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Arlene L Meinders of Oskaloosa, Iowa, who passed away on May 27, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Edward and Margaret Witt Phillips; and her siblings, Janice Phillips, Joyce Plate, Sharon Jameson, Irvin Phillips, Richard Phillips and Tony Phillips.
She is survived by: her former husband Ron Green; her child Terry; her former husband Junior Meinders; her children, Dana, Roger Taft of Albia, Stacy Green of Oskaloosa, Tania, Todd Lappin of Oskaloosa, DeeDee, Bill Veldhuizen of Oskaloosa, Derek and Kimberly Meinders of Scottsdale, Arizona; her grandchildren, Erica Taft, Tyler Taft (Kassi), Cody Green, Collin Green (Jarrah), Andrew Green, Cameron Green, Kyle Mitterer (Tanya), Colton Mitterer, Alex Mitterer, Andrea Mitterer (Stephen), Mandy Veldhuizen, Bret Hoover, Emily Thomas (Nick), Lindsey Veldhuizen, Carson Meinders and Kenzie Meinders; her great grandchildren, Bowen, Clay, Journee, Daisy, Pierce and Tripp; her sisters, Betty Ann Mickels of Beacon, Janet Teggatz of Oskaloosa and Marcia Harris (Bill) of Bettendorf; her sister-in-law Connie Phillips of Ottumwa; and her friend John Mitterer.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 30th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Bates Funeral Chapel (114 S 7th St, Oskaloosa, IA 52577). A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 30th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to the Ecumenical Cupboard in Oskaloosa.
