She is survived by: her children, William R. Bates (Lori) of Des Moines, John Michael Bates (Rose Frances) of Washington, MI, Mary Elizabeth Anne Hawkins of Newton, L. Susan Kollasch (Kurt) of Oskaloosa and Richard Bates (Carla) of Newton; and her grandchildren, Jake Bates (Jennifer), Matthew Bates (Candace), Kyrna Erdman (Tom), John Michael Bates, Jr. (Mindy), Erik Adams (Talia), Monica Adams, Christopher Kollasch (Gretchen), Kesley Kollasch, Josh Bates (Mackenzie) and Jesse Bates (Anna). She is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
