He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Pfeiffer and Evelyn Pfeiffer (Christner); his wife Sherry Ellsworth; and his sisters, Margaret Persetta and Bunny Pfeiffer.
He is survived by: his children, Todd Pfeiffer (Jill) of Edwards and Marty Pfeiffer of Oskaloosa; his grandchildren, Kelley Pfeiffer, Aaron Pfeiffer and Lindsey Pfeiffer; his siblings, Judy Herman (Denny) of North Liberty and Luther Pfeiffer of Mt. Pleasant; and his half-sisters, Sharon Ferch and Wanda Wood. He is also survived by 8 great grandchildren.
