He was predeceased by: his father Marion Scholtus; his brother David Scholtus; his nephew Andrew Scholtus; his brother-in-law Al Ault; and his pet Maggie.
He is survived by: his mother Carol Scholtus of Oskaloosa; his children, Samuel, Felicia Lucas (Joe) of Story City, Anna McKleasky (Mark) of Memphis, Tennessee and Samual Scholtus of Iowa City, Iowa; and his siblings, Glenn Scholtus (Deseiri) of Oskaloosa, Renee Ault of Oskaloosa, Robin Hook (Randy) of Oskaloosa and Dean Scholtus (Gina) of Fremont. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Bates Funeral Chapel (114 S 7th St, Oskaloosa, IA 52577). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
