With sadness, we share the passing of Ross Read of Otho, Iowa. Ross, born on September 9, 1944, passed away on September 18, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his mother Rosemary Read (Hall); his wife Linda Hanson (Holmes); and his brother David Read. He is survived by: his children, Brenda McBride (John) of Fort Dodge and Monty Read (Lori) of Clare; his stepdaughters, Nichole Townsend (Kevin Koliner) of Sioux Falls and Jodi Reekers (Ryan) of Fort Dodge; his grandchildren, Nick McBride (Cassy), Ashley Coleman (Brady), Austin Read (Becca), Brady Read (Anna), Alexis Read, Brooklyn Townsend, Brynn Townsend and Madalyn Reekers; his great grandchildren, Everett, Clara, Linden, Graham and Calan; and his sister Vicki Boyington.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 at 6:00 PM at the Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services (1615 N 15th St, Fort Dodge, IA 50501).
