He was predeceased by: his father Lawrence Merell. He is survived by: his mother Violet Jean Newman (Klipfel) of Pacific Junction, Iowa; his niece Lindsey Newman; his fiancée Lorie Ann Gentry-Newman of Waterville, Kansas; and his siblings, Dan Newman (Leanie) of Pacific Junction, Iowa, Audrey Lindgreen of Arizona and Rick Newman (Dana) of New River, Arizona. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 27th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Peterson Mortuary (212 S Locust St, Glenwood, IA 51534).
