He was predeceased by: his siblings, David "Jim" Bemer, Chuck Bemer Sr. and Hester Bemer; his fiancée Carol Derby; and his brothers-in-law, Richard "Butch" Ament and Harold Bruce.
He is survived by: his sisters, Diana Ament of Cedar Rapids and Linda Bruce of Cedar Rapids; and his siblings' children, Laurie Bemer, Diana Bemer, Michelle Bemer, Kimberly Le Velle, Bev James, Jennie Fritz of Cedar Rapids, Mary Shramek of Swisher, Katie Stinson of Piney Creek, NC, Lee Bruce, Jerry Bruce, Chuck Bemer Jr. of Cedar Rapids, Ed Ament of Brooklyn, Chad Everts of Walford and Brentt Stepanek.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 6th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Teahen Funeral Home (3100 F Ave NW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52405). A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 7th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Spring Grove Cemetery.
