He is survived by: his wife Beverly Schmitz of Harlan, IA; his children, Tamara (Christopher Lynam) of Overland Park, KS, Becky Schmitz (Jonathan Smith) of Durham, NC and Mark (Jill Schmitz) of Panama, IA; and his sisters, Margaret "Peg" Petsche of Portsmouth, IA, Patricia Puckett (Fred) of Greely, CO, Lolita Malone of Audubon, IA and Janet Altman (Don) of Golden, CO. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Iowa Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association in dedication to Tom Schmitz.
