She was predeceased by: her parents, Clayton Chapman and Alice Lucille Chapman (Mason); her husband Robert "Butch" Thorne; her siblings, Darlene Jordan, Marian Christensen, Janet Groeneveld, Nancy Kahler, Kenneth Chapman, Donald Chapman and Dean Chapman; and her brothers-in-law, Kenneth "Kenny" Thorne and Marvin Adolphs.

She is survived by: her sons, Scott Thorne (Jamie Cummins) of Waterloo and Brett Thorne (Sara) of Eden Prairie, MN; her grandchildren, Rachael Ryan (Ray), Gwendolyn Thorne, Bre Thorne, Izzy Thorne and Eli Thorne; her siblings, Larry Chapman (Carol) of New Hartford, Greg Chapman (Cathy) of Winterset, Harold Chapman of New Hartford, Margaret Michaels of Waterloo, Shirley Weigan of Dubuque and Lynda Southard of Aplington; and her siblings-in-law, Leon Thorne (Becky), Delores Adolphs and Elaine Chapman. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
