With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Dorothy Schmith of Paullina, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 24, 2025 at the age of 99. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George Schmidt and Lillie Schmidt (Wiese); her husbands, Ray and Clarence Schmith; her children, Sharon Puhrmann, Linda Nelson and James Hoppe; and her son-in-law Dennis Appeldorn.
She is survived by: her daughters, Connie Neuroth (Tim) of Webster City and Sandra Appeldorn (Greg Simonson) of Des Moines, Iowa; and her children-in-law, Miles Puhrmann (Mary) of Paullina, Ricardo Dominguez of St. Paul and Cindy Hoppe Drefke (Neal) of Spencer. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren and 15 great great Grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Zion Lutheran Church (103 W Bertha St, Paullina, IA 51046). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at the Liberty Township Cemetery - Calumet (Calumet, IA).
