Buwalda and Anna Buwalda (Gosselink); her husband Arie Ver Dught; her daughter Patty Jo Wessel; her granddaughter Jodi Thompson; her sons-in-law, Herb Doddridge and Donald Thompson; her sister Sara Plath (Frank); her stepsiblings, Joyce Kirk (Ray) and Lee Vriezelaar (Mary Louise); and her half-sister Ruth Ray (Leon).

She is survived by : her daughters, Donna Gayle of Coralville, Beverly Thompson of Des Moines and Arla Doddridge of Liberty Township; her son-in-law Kendall Wessel of Texas; and her nephew Cordell Van Reese (Linda).
