She was predeceased by: her parents, John Timmer and Ina Timmer (Verhoef); her former husband Dutch Afman; her husband William Gindro; and her daughter Karla Afman.

She is survived by: her sons, Klaas Afman (Cori) of Pella, Kirk Afman (Renee) of Santa Rosa and Kevin Afman (Sherri) of Cotati. She is also survived by five grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
