He was predeceased by: his parents, Cornelis Jong and Goverdena De Jong (Klyn); his wife Jeanne Petersen; and his siblings, Nick De Jong, Sadie Albright and Dorothy Bokhoven.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Brock, Elissa Maxwell, Bradley, Jessica Van Wyk, Korey, Jennifer Van Wyk, Krystal, Jordan Gowing, Kyle, Alli Van Wyk, Jimmy Richtsmeier, Michael, Kristin De Jong, Ryan De Jong, Lindsey De Jong, Tyler, Michelle De Jong and Collin De Jong; and his great grandchildren, Silas James Gowing, Mara Evangeline Gowing, Ezra Lee Gowing, Elliana Rose Van Wyk, Cambria Jean Van Wyk, Eleanor Van Wyk, Zoey De Jong, Evi De Jong, Charley De Jong, Preston De Jong, Avery De Jong and Lennon De Jong.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to New Life Prison Ministry.
