It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gary Timmer (Pella, Iowa), who passed away on April 5, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Esdert Timmer and Everdena Timmer (Jongerious); his brother John; his siblings-in-law, RaeJean Timmer, Charlie Reisig and Richie Schembri; and his close friends, Harold and Mavis Geisler.

He is survived by: his wife Maurine; his son Craig (Susan Timmer); his grandchildren, JT (Katie) of New Haven, CT and Kirsten (Zach) of Denver, CO; his children, Kyl Timmer (Genji) and Sheri (John Roslien); his grandchild Kylie (Travis); his great grandchild Sienna of Bettendorf; his grandchild Aanna (Jaden) of Ankeny; and his siblings, Leroy (AZ), Edwin (WI), Diane (AZ), Rosie (MO), Linda (AZ) and Stan (TX).

Following his retirement in 1993, he was asked to consult on many local fundraising campaigns, served on many boards, and was instrumental in creating the Pella chapter of Dollars for Scholars and the Pella Community Foundation.

“I was saddened and a bit stunned when I saw on Kyle's Facebook page his father had passed. Despite his advanced age I fully expected to see him hoofing it around Pella for more years during my strolls when I was in town. Gary Timmer, once a neighbor, always a friend, gave me some sage advice and kind comments when I most needed it. He could make you think about your path. And for that I will always be grateful”
