She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. Harold C. L. and Dagmar Marie Swanson (Larsen); and her brother Robert Swanson (Nancy). She is survived by: her husband William Charles Mitchell; her children, David Mitchell of Dubuque, Thomas Mitchell (Alexa) of Dubuque and Eryn Dietzenbach (Jason) of Ames, IA; her grandchildren, Robert J. Kohl, Grant, Kaya, Zander, Drew Dietzenbach, Winston, Elaina and Theo Mitchell; her brother Roger Swanson (Joan) of Richfield, MN; and her sister-in-law Janet Gundershaug (Robert) of St. Michael, MN. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Her dedication extended to Girl Scouts, serving on the Habitat for Humanity Board, organized a Kidney Foundation conference, and assisting with the monthly newsletter for the dialysis unit.
