She was predeceased by : her parents, Daniel McCarthy and Myrtle McCarthy (Callahan); her former life partner William "Bill" Merchant; her husband Paul Sullivan; her siblings, Walter, Mike, Joe McCarthy, Yvonne Wolbers and Marlene Ogelsby; and her siblings-in-law, Carol, Ronnie, Pat, Jim and Frank.

She is survived by : her daughters, Corinna Merchant (Doug Blosch) of Dubuque, Tanya Cook (Tony) of Peosta and Lynette Gassmann (Gary) of Dubuque; her grandchildren, William Vohl (Taylor), Madeline Vohl, Ellen Merfeld, Kara Shilling (David), Renee, Grace Merfeld, Hailey, Harrison Cook, Gavin, Logan and Ethan Gassmann; her great grandchild Brody Vohl; her stepchildren, Lynne Murcia and Greg Sullivan (Pam); her stepgrandchildren, Adam, Kyle (Kihley) and Emma Sullivan; her sisters, Ruth Moore (Lyle), Twyla Oswald, Marilyn Redenbough (Dana), Margie McDonnell (Dan) and Eileen Comeaux (Rene); and her sisters-in-law, Bev McCarthy and Rosalie Brown. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
