She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlotte Honel (Field) and Carl Honel; her husband Ronald "Ron" Clay; her grandson Jared Smith; her great grandchild Leonidas "Leo" James Ballard Van; her siblings, Lois Ahrensmeyer and Bob Honel; and her in-laws, Francis Lyle Clay, Hulda Wildes and Herbert Wildes.

She is survived by: her daughters, Deborah Smith (Carl) of Des Moines, Pamela Ballard (Randy) of Perry and Mishelle Johnson (Brad) of Johnston; her grandchildren, Jacob Ballard (Shannon), Jennifer Ballard Smith, Kristin Ballard, Karmin Ballard (Cord Ramirez), Juli Smith, Kyle Smith, Matthew Smith, Kellen Johnson (Jennifer), Bryce Johnson (Madison) and Mryn Carius (Caleb); and her great grandchildren, Chloe Ndume (Kiza), Issac Ballard, Elias Ballard, Dawson Smith, Emilia Ramirez, Bink Ramirez, Benny Ramirez, Alfie Ramirez, Opal Ramirez, Jayde Johnson, Charlotte Johnson, Henry Johnson and Rowen Johnson. She is also survived by dogs and cats, sisters and brothers-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church in Perry, Eden Acres Activities, or the Perry Food Pantry.
