In the vast expanse of eternity, John Edward shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid John Edward farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.

He was predeceased by: his parents, George Wilson and Mary Wilson (Hale); his wife Peggy Wilson; and his sister Sharon Bates. He is survived by: his daughter Theresa; his grandson Andrew Wilson (Jessica Padilla) of Brighton; his nephews, Edwin Bates Jr. of Waukee and Donald Bates of Des Moines; and his cousin Betty Martin of Missap, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family for a designation to be determined in John's name.
