We are sad to announce that on December 6, 2025, Richard John Wernli of Perry, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Vivian Iola Wernli (Liles) and Stanley Wernli; and his brother Jim Wernli. He is survived by: his children, Jeff Wernli (Jamie) of Altoona, Michael Wernli (Hayley) of Waukee and Stacy Feenstra (Eric) of Ankeny; his grandchildren, Colton, Carter, Kenley, Rylinne, Paisley, Lucy, Brianna, Scarlett, Harper, Carson, Logan, Owen and Eisley; his siblings, Dennis Wernli (Deb) of Woodward and Tami Ebel (Ed) of Dixon, Illinois; his partner's children, Heath and Cherise; Ashley, Bailey and Colton. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 19th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home - Perry Chapel (1721 Park St, Perry, IA 50220). A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 19th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the John Stoddard Cancer Center, 1221 Pleasant Street, Des Moines, IA 50309, in Rick's memory.
