She was predeceased by: her parents, John Lyon and Anita Lyon (West); her husband Jerry Mathews; and her brother John Lyon. She is survived by: her children, David Kristan Valen (Leanette) and Mary Katherine Valen; her brothers, James Lyon (Sue) and Richard Lyon; her grandchildren, Shawnee Valen, Dakota Valen and Skylar Valen; and her great grandchildren, Micheal Sudbrock, Ellajean Grenz and Jerimiah Grenz. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the United Way, the Animal Rescue League, or any organization that helps with dementia care or research.
