We are sad to announce that, on November 11, 2025 we had to say goodbye to Cheryl Ann Smith of Pocahontas, Iowa, born in Ute, Iowa. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Leslie Baak and Leone Baak (Hinrichsen); her brother Darrell Baak; and her sister-in-law Susan Baak. She is survived by: her husband John; her children, James Smith (Julie) of Indianola, Jennifer Overton (Derek) of Indianola and Josh Smith (Deb) of Urbandale; her brothers, Larry Baak (Nancy) and Arlyn Baak; her sister-in-law Charlotte Baak; and her grandchildren, Gavin Smith, Grace Smith, Gillian Smith, Jackson Overton, Camryn Overton, Ellison Smith, Emery Smith, Elin Smith and Ensley Smith. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to St. Peter Lutheran Church in Pocahontas, Iowa.
