He is survived by: his children, Diane Ries (Tom) of Pocahontas and David Schendel of Helmsburg, IN; his grandchildren, Kallie Sheda of Laurens and Michael Ries (Samantha) of Manson; his great grandchildren, Mariah Hill and Thomas Sheda of Laurens; and his sisters, Betty Ohlinger (Ray) of Pocahontas and Rose Edge of Laurens.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Powers Funeral Home - Pocahontas (502 4th Ave NE, Pocahontas, IA 50574).
