John Southwood wrote a sympathy message

“Dear Burgmeier Family: Please accept my deepest condolences for your loss. I’m an old friend of Mark’s. We attended grade school and high school together. We played football all four years of HS as well and were part of group of friends that were known for having fun (The SOB’s). I am deeply saddened to lose a good friend. He was a great football player.. He was fast and powerful, the perfect fullback. He ran me over a few times. I will miss him dearly. May God bless you all! John Southwood”
