He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Bettesworth and Doris Bettesworth; his brother Larry Bettesworth; his stepson Mike Johnson; and his brother-in-law Micheal Pledger.
He is survived by: his wife Varene Bettesworth; his stepchildren, JayDee Johnson and Taylor Johson (Leah); his daughter-in-law Amy Johnson; his siblings, Connie Deubel (William), Bonnie Pledger, Jeannie Bettesworth, Danny Bettesworth, James Bettesworth (Lori), Terri Fritz (Leighton), Sandra Bettesworth and Linda Bettesworth (Aaron Bailey); and his grandchildren, Kaia Johnson, Maybellene, Jolene Johnson, Brynn Johnson and Drake White-Bergy. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service was held on Monday, April 21st 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the The Gathering Place (133 Mason St, Onalaska, WI 54650). The military honors was held on Monday, April 21st 2025 at 5:00 PM at the Onalaska American Legion Post 336 (731 Sand Lake Road, Onalaska, WI 54650).
