She is survived by: her husband Eugene Schmitz; her children, Brian Schmitz (Katherine) of Waterloo, Alan Schmitz, Ronald Schmitz of Waterloo, Colleen Burge (Dale) of Waterloo, Elaine Sweiger (Patrick) of Cedar Rapids and Karen Schmitz of Raymond; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Burge, Stephanie Burge, Audrey Sweiger, Adam Sweiger and Amanda Sweiger; and her sister Norma Apel of Dubuque.
