He is survived by: his children, Mike Phelps (Mary) of Omaha, NE, Danny Phelps of Red Oak, IA, Jimmy Phelps of Red Oak, IA and Sarah Phelps (Tony Roller) of Omaha, NE; his grandchildren, Josh Phelps (Kim) of Swisher, IA, Emily Breunig of Sun Prairie, WI, Meghan Sullivan (Nick) of Omaha, NE, Sam Phelps (Tana) of Omaha, NE, Danny Phelps (Brooke) of Omaha, NE, Randon Phelps of Red Oak, IA, Amber Phelps of Bellevue, NE and Chloe Phelps (Mike Rath) of Bellevue, NE; his sister Marilyn Rock of Fairmont, MN; and his sister-in-law Jeannie Alberts of Denison, IA. He is also survived by 23 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 26th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the LeRette Funeral Chapel (525 E. Ratliff Road, Red Oak, IA 51566). A burial will be held on Wednesday, May 27th 2026 at the Evergreen Cemetery (1800 N 8th St, Red Oak, IA 51566).
Memorials are suggested to the FFA Alumni Association or the Red Oak Elks Lodge for scholarships and youth activities.
