He is survived by: his sons, Gregory Carlson (Anne) of Johnston, IA and Kerry Carlson (Elaine) of Red Oak, IA; his grandchildren, Matt Carlson (Haleigh) of Lincoln, NE, Alec Carlson (Grace) of Manhattan, NY, Michael Carlson (Avery) of Mesa, AZ, Brittany Prokupek (Josh) of Pella, IA and Kaylin Carlson of Red Oak, IA; his great grandchildren, Simon, Ellis Carlson, Everett, Holden Prokupek and Corinne Carlson; his siblings, Roger Carlson (Mary Jo) of Marion, IA and Marcia Sierp (Bob) of Onalaska, WI; and his siblings-in-law, Jim Raney of Stanton, IA and Carol Anne Carlson of Clarinda, IA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
