He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Altstadt and Agnes Martens-Altstadt; and his siblings, Lois Altstadt-Doades and James Altstadt. He is survived by: his children, Steven Altstadt, Martin Altstadt (Tamara), David Altstadt, Ellen Wansor (David) and Randall Altstadt; his grandchildren, Curtis Altstadt, Heather Altstadt, Tyesa Daisierain, Jacqueline Bostwick (Preston) and Andrew Altstadt; Shirley. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the LeRette Funeral Chapel (525 E. Ratliff Road, Red Oak, IA 51566).
