He was predeceased by: his parents, James William and Wilma Bruce (Simpson); and his sisters, Gladis Ann Rine and Mildred "Millie" Strahathan. He is survived by: his children, James R. Bruce, Jr. of Villisca, Iowa, John Bruce (Kelsi) of Villisca, Iowa and Tammy Michael (John) of Monett, Missouri; his granddaughter Kaitlyn Bruce of Glenwood, Iowa; his children, Ethan, Jordan, Brayton Bruce of Villisca, Iowa, Allison, Mason Michael of Monett, Missouri, Aunalee and Jesse Bruce of Villisca, Iowa; his great grandchildren, Garrett Deiber of Glenwood and Crew Bruce of Villisca, Iowa; and his sisters, Vivian Helton of Waynesville and Cheryl Wilkes of Blue Springs, Missouri. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 30th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the LeRette Funeral Chapel, Inc. (1995 G Ave, Red Oak, IA 51566). A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 30th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
