He was predeceased by: his parents, James R. Simmonds and June E. Simmonds (Springer); his sisters, Linda Hietbrink and Virginia Malmquist; and his son-in-law Darrin Snow.

He is survived by: his wife Naomi Simmonds of Red Oak; his children, Leigh Pfeiffer (Tim) of Red Oak, Saundra Hale (Allen) of Red Oak and Ronn Simmonds (Amanda) of Council Bluffs, IA; his grandson Jake Snow (Brandi) of Stanton, IA; his children, Jessie Bumsted (Cole) of Oceanside, CA, Julia Mc Donald (Michael) of Emerson, IA, Phil Pfeiffer, Maranda Myers of Red Oak, IA, Kaleb Hale (Brynn Hammond) of Glenwood, IA, Peyton Edie of Red Oak, IA, Hunter and Ainsleigh Simmonds of Council Bluffs, IA; his great grandchildren, Jayden, Deacon, Annaleigh, Lane, Clarke, Jamie and Leon; his siblings, Ron Simmonds (Deloris) of Evanston, WY, Roger Simmonds (Collette) of Washougal, WA, David Simmonds (Libby) of Junction City, KY, Mike Simmonds (Cindy) of Shenandoah, IA, Tom Simmonds (Debra) of Junction City, KY, Saundra Simmonds of Colorado Springs, CO and Rita Renz (Dave) of Colorado Springs, CO; his mother-in-law Erma Lee Stites of Council Bluffs, IA; and his brothers-in-law, Larry Hietbrink of Shenandoah, IA and Alvin Stites (Rolleen) of LaCygn, KS. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
